Years ago, these kind of cheap tactics did work in boosting web pages up Google’s search results. That isn’t the case anymore. When you search for something — anything —poorly designed or user-hostile websites never appear on page 1 of the search results.

These kind of tactics will now damage search-engine results for websites. Poor-quality backlinks, keyword-injection, and pop-ups (or more popular now, the pop-unders) will all lower a website’s place in the search results. Food for thought.
